Hospital de Santa Creu i de Sant Pau is a beautiful building to help the recovery. It is in the northern part of Barcelona in the district of the Eixample .
With the construction of the hospital form 1902 to 1912, the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner achieved a masterpiece – a specially human and in no ways sterile building that nonetheless met the highest medical standards
The main building is dedicated to the hospital administration and the 27 pavilions are dedicated to the serve as clinics.
All the different buildings are connected by underground galleries, prepared for transporting the patients.
In 2003, works started for the edification of the new building, in the upper northern part of the complex, with the idea that this new building will replace the many different pavilions. There is still doubts as for the future purpose that will be given to the historic buildings, declared by UNESCO as World Heritage site.
