Music museum in Barcelona opened its doors in 2007. It gathers nearly 500 different instruments from various periods and cultures. The collection is considered to be one of the most biggest in Spain. There are also some audiovisual material and lots of text about music. In the museum you will learn how music instruments were born and how they developed to our days. As we are in Spain, museum offers a huge guitar collection. There is also an exhibition of new instruments and interactive room where visitors can try out themselves some instruments. There are two sections in the museum permanent exhibition and different temporary exhibitions. Its possible to have a guided tour to the permanent exhibition.

Museums
It is a museum of religious art, medieval paintings and some artifacts. The museum is located just by the Barcelona cathedral in building called “Pia Almoina”. Part of the building was an old Roman wall, which is still there.
Its impossible to miss the entrance of the museum because the door of it is an attraction by itself. Its a modern art work which is made from steal and it fits perfectly to the medieval building. The best time is to visit the museum is after long straw in the Gothic district.
The Fundacio Antoni Tapies is a cultural center in Barcelona located in Eixample district. It was opened in 1984 by Tapies himself. The foundation is dedicated to painter Antoni Tapies work. There are mainly Tapies paintings and sculptures it the foundation, but its also a place where are organized some temporary exhibitions, lectures and film sessions. The collection consist mostly from Antoni and Teresa Tapies donations. There are also an artbook library and a museum shop,
The building of the foundation is legendary because it was former publishing house “Montaner I Simon” and it is made by famous architect Lluis Domenech I Montaner. The bulding was build in 1885 at the early stage of Catalan modernism and it was the first building which integrated Industrial typology.
This museum is located in the Gothic district near to the cathedral of Barcelona. Frederic Mares was a great sculpturist and there are his most famous works, which he donated to the city. There are few different parts in the museum. The main part focuses on Mares sculptures. But there is also a part which focuses on sculptures from preRoman time until 20th century. In another part you can find different objects from 19th century. Its an interesting museum for sculpture lovers.
