If you are for the first time in Barcelona this is the museum where you should go first. The museum of Barcelona history is located in the Gothic district in the old city and its located mostly under Plaza del Rei, which is a beautiful medieval square. First buildings in Barcelona were build by the Romans over 2000 years ago at the Plaza del rei and there are still some old ruins left so that is why the museum of Barcelona history is there.
In the museum you get headset and you take an elevator down under the ground. Then you basically walk through the ruins and eventually you get up again. During the tour you will get a lot of information about Barcelona history. It is a nice museum which takes you back to the past and you forget there about the time. You can easily spend there few hours. Definitely worth of visiting.
