Standing on the most highest point of the Montjuic mountain “Montjuic fortress” was build in 1652 for defense against Spanish king and his army who wanted to occupy the city of Barcelona. The fortress was build in record time, but it wasn't a stopper for strong Spanish army. In fact the fortress is these days, in a way landmark for occupation of Catalunia. At the Franco regime it was a jail for political criminals and execution place. You can easily find many fresh tombstones from Franco regime at the Montjuic cemetary.
Today the fortress is open to everyone and there is also a war museum. The exposition consists of different weapons and uniforms, army of small soldiers, medieval armor and miniatures of all Catalonian fortresses.



In 1900 Gaudí was commissioned to design an English park in Barcelona. The aim of the project was to make housing and nature equally. Antoni Gaudí planned then a garden with more than 60 villas. But very soon, the original project failed because buyers should have to accept by contract that they won't have trees in their garden and no fences higher than 80 cm.
The Ciutadella Park is one of the most beautiful park of Barcelona. Located near the district of Barceloneta, this park is a very pleasant place to stroll.
Barcelona is known as a city of parks and it has indeed a lot of them. The Labyrinth park is one of the most oldest and beautiful parks in Barcelona. Its located quite far away from the city and that is why its not so known as the Parc Guell or Parc de la Ciutadella. The park is located in the end of Barcelona in Horta district, where its very easy to go by metro.
